4-Day Choquequirao Trek
Discover Peru’s ‘other Machu Picchu’ during this 4-day, 3-night off-the-beaten path adventure to the sprawling Inca ruins of Choquequirao. The Quechua name “Choquequirao” means “Cradle of Gold” and this Inca site is located high above the raging Apurimac River, surrounded by lush tropical cloud forest. This was one of the last refuges of the Incas after the Spanish invasion. Travel along rugged trails, offering views of distant snow-capped peaks and camping along the way, as you head to this incredible abandoned Incan city. Once you arrive, wander among the partially cleared ruins, taking in sunset views from the city’s one-time religious center and enjoying a guided tour explaining its similarities to the famous Machu Picchu. Includes transport, entrance fees, guide, camping accommodations, 03-nights accommodation in campsites along the trail, three days of meals and snacks and porters to carry shared equipment and round-trip hotel transfer.
