Museo de Oro del Peru

The Gold Museum of Peru, originally from a private collection belonging to Mujica Gallo, has on displays master pieces found nowhere else in the world. It features over 8,000 pieces of precious metal artifacts, including gold, silver and brass pieces from pre-Inca and Inca cultures. Also on display is pottery and clothing used by the ancient people of Peru. The various showcases display gold artifacts of various centuries in Peruvian history, with a heavy focus on pre-Inca times. Decorative items include ornaments cut with stone pendants, jewelry, masks and figures depicting animals such as monkeys, lizards, and birds. The Museum also has on displays ancient weapons,  not only from Peru but from other parts of the world.  Weapons were a symbol of wealth and power and the museum boast over 20,000 artifacts including weapons from all over the world, equestrian equipment and uniforms.
