Machu Picchu Mountain

Machu Picchu Mountain is located 3,082 meters. In it, is seated the Inca city of Machu Picchu, and are every day more people decide to venture into it, possibly by the energy emanating earth, considered sacred to the Inca civilization. Its summit was used by Inca priests to perform rituals on special dates and place of worship of the Apu Salkantay. The great mountain rises more than 652 m above the Sacred City, and offers so lush landscapes, as few places in the world; the paths of the old network of roads used by the Incas, amounting amid lush vegetation, surrounded by native fauna. The road has irregular sections of stone steps, it is estimated that during the climb will go through more than 1,600 steps. The rise time depends on the physical condition of the individual and can range from 2-3 hours. From the top you can admire the amazing canyon formed by the slope of the Vilcanota, with green mountains on one side, and on the other, the mountains of the Cordillera Vilcabamba, the snowy summit of Salkantay (6,271 m) among others. Conglomerate which forms the habitat of species such as the spectacled bear, the cock of the rock (endangered) and other fauna.
