Thanks to the wealth of its natural resources and high levels of exports make mining, agriculture and fishing the main sources of the country’s foreign exchange. In the last years, products like textiles and organic products have gained greater importance among its exports. Also the service sector, including tourism, has grown significantly. Therefore permitting the economy to develop and enabling us to become the fastest growing country in the entire region. Tourism is also an important generator of employment and income for the country. Among the major destinations are Machu Picchu and other archaeological sites in the city of Cuzco, Lake Titicaca, the Nazca Lines and the Amazon jungle. The official currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol (S/.), which is divided into 100 cents. The currency includes coins for 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and 1, 2 and 5 sol coins. There are bills in the denomination of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Nuevos Soles.
